We’re Married! - Our Wedding Weekend

“1,905... that is the number of days that I have been in love with you.”

On September 22nd, Daniel and I got the chance to say “I do” in front of many of our friends and family. We are overjoyed with the amount of love and support that we felt that day and will be forever grateful for all of the hard work that our wedding party and parents did to make our day so perfect.

We decided to rent out our wedding venue for the entire weekend to make the most out of the time with our friends and family. We invited our wedding party, parents, and grandparents to stay the weekend at the venue. On Friday we held our Rehearsal Dinner which consisted of appetizers, artisan pizzas, and salad out on the terrace. We had a slideshow of Daniel and I as children going, which was definitely a hit (especially with Daniel’s Mormor/ grandma). We ended the night with root beer floats for the kids and popsicle champagne floats for the adults.

The next morning was wedding day! I woke up bright and early to make sure everything was in place for the busy day ahead. The forecast had said clear skies, but as soon as everything was set up it started to rain. We rushed to get everything covered and I couldn’t help but get slightly upset but then decided to changed my mindset to “whatever happens happens, I’m getting married at the end of the day no matter what”. I eventually had to stop helping with set up to start getting ready with my bridesmaids. My girls were so amazing with helping out the entire weekend. One of my bridesmaids did my hair and makeup (hair by Michelle Savic) and it turned out beautiful! We called the moms up to the bridal suite and gave them presents from Daniel and I. There was not a dry eye in the room! I also had presents for my girls that included a robe, pink clay face masks, and a personalized dish that had their bridesmaid dress hand painted on it. During that time, Daniel, his groomsmen and our fathers were getting ready in the grooms suite. They each had presents waiting for them that included; socks, a tie, a pocket square, cuff links, and personalized tie clips. I had also gotten Daniel a wood carved map of Seattle, which he loved.

Before we knew it, it was already 5:00 and time to walk down the aisle. I wasn’t nervous until I was watching the rest of my wedding party get in line to walk down the aisle. Everything about the ceremony was perfect, especially the fact that Daniel cried (I was pretty surprised)! We decided to write our own vows and I am so happy that we did because it made the ceremony much more personal and heartfelt.

After the ceremony was over the photographer and videographer took us to take some pictures, then it was time for our first entrance as Mr. and Mrs. Malsch. We chose I Don’t Dance by Lee Brice for our first dance song. We first heard this song when it was performed live for the first time over 4 years ago at our first concert together. That was also the first song we ever danced to together so it has always been special to us and made perfect sense for our first dance. We were so nervous to dance in front of 100 people, but once we started dancing all of the nerves left, except I was little nervous when Daniel would spin me because he gets a little too excited. After our first dance we ate and then played the newly wed shoe game which created lots of laughs. We continued with all of the normal wedding activities; speeches, father daughter/ mother son dances, and opened up the dance floor with a reverse anniversary dance. To our surprise the dance floor was packed the entire night. We had two years olds out on the dance floor all the way to 80 year olds. We ended the night with a sparkler send off and favors of personalized Jones’s Soda, straight from Seattle.

The next morning we held a brunch for our weekend venue guests. We had a mimosa bar, yogurt bar, and biscuit bar which definitely helped cure most people’s hangovers from the night before. After brunch was over, we thanked all of our guests and headed on home to spend a day with our puppies before we headed off to our honeymoon. We still can’t stop talking about how much of a great time our wedding was. It’s crazy to think that we have already been married for a week (tomorrow).

I can’t wait to get our pictures and wedding video back. Once I do I’ll be making another post! Also, be on the look out for our honeymoon video. If you have any suggestions for posts, feel free to comment below or message me.
